Dr. Nate Pietrini, CUEL contributor and Executive Director of High Jump, recently announced that the organization has received a grant in support of its academic supports program from the Chicago philanthropy Invest For Kids. High Jump is a not for profit that provides academic enrichment and support services to academically ambitious middle school students from low-income backgrounds. According to the grant announcement, 98% of High Jump’s student participants are youth of color, and 95% attend Chicago public schools. High Jump was among 8 grant recipients in 2023 selected from over 100 applicants, and had its work featured at Invest For Kids’ Annual Conference in Chicago. Dr. Pietrini was also recently appointed Chair of the Early Childhood Services Committee at Brightpoint (formerly, Children’s Home & Aid). This committee oversees the organization’s strategic decisions related to Early Head Start and Head Start programming across the State of Illinois.
