Meagan Richard, a graduate research assistant in CUEL and a third-year Ph.D. student in the Policy Studies in Urban Education program, has just received three prestigious national awards. She has been selected to attend this year’s David L. Clark Graduate Research Seminar jointly held by the American Education Research Association and the University Council for Educational Administration. This is a highly selective national research seminar for doctoral students in educational leadership and/or policy. Meagan will participate in this seminar in San Francisco in April 2020. She has also been selected to receive the 2020 Foster Polite Scholarship. The Foster Polite Scholarship is a prestigious, competitive travel award of $500 made accessible for AERA’s Division A. The funds are meant to defray some of the costs of AERA travel. Meagan is one of four graduate student awardees. She will be recognized for this exciting accomplishment at the AERA Division A business meeting on Saturday, April 18. Lastly, AERA’s Leadership for Social Justice Special Interest Group has awarded Meagan a $250 grant to support her travel to this year’s AERA convention. Congratulations Meagan!
