Several CUEL staff members and faculty affiliates will discuss their recent research work at the upcoming 2023 annual meeting of the American Educational Research Association (AERA), to be held in downtown Chicago from April 13 through 16. CUEL’s nine participating associates include Center Director Shelby Cosner, Lionel Allen, Cynthia Barron, Craig De Voto, Paul Riskus, Meagan Richard, Jason Salisbury, and Steven Tozer. CUEL presentations will cover a diverse range of topics in school leader preparation, educational equity, school improvement, leadership through crisis and Covid-19, research-practice partnerships, and the history of Chicago school reform. In addition, our colleague Paul Zavitkovsky will present new findings on the educational challenges posed by district reliance on increasingly popular interim assessment systems, at the annual meeting of the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME), running parallel to the AERA meeting in Chicago. A listing of CUEL presentations at AERA 2023 is provided below.
