We are pleased to announce that Dr. Maria Teresa “Terri” Campos has joined the EdD. in Urban Education Leadership program as a leadership coach.  In this role she will coach, teach, and support aspiring and novice principals pursuing their EdD degree at UIC.  Additionally, she will contribute to several CUEL continuous improvement and leader development projects.  Campos is the former principal of Rodolfo Lozano Bilingual International Center, a CPS school serving students Pre-K-8; 76% are Hispanic and 91% low income. She collaborated with school and community members to move the school from the lowest performing level to a 1+ level in a span of four years.  Campos served as assistant principal and then principal of Talcott Elementary School in Chicago and prior to that was a bilingual coordinator in the CPS Office of Language and Culture.  Campos holds two master’s degrees and received her EdD. in Urban Education Leadership from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2016.
