Dr. Shelby Cosner, CUEL Director, was a part of an expert panel on principal development for a global convening for roughly 100 school leader researchers and developers experts in a remote convening organized by South Africa’s Partners for Possibilities. Dr. Cosner discussed the mechanisms by which school leaders impact student learning, the importance of mentoring and coaching as a developmental approach for school leaders, and innovative approaches and considerations for evaluating the impact of school leader development programs in contexts with limited resources for program evaluation.
