CUEL Director Shelby Cosner and CUEL Affiliate Steve Tozer gave a talk at the Carnegie Foundation’s Summit on Improvement in Education which drew from their forthcoming book chapter co-authored with others from UIC and Chicago Public Schools (CPS): Preparing principals for urban schools: The challenge of equitable outcomes at scale. This work explores the 20-year partnership between UIC and CPS which began to support UIC’s Ed.D. program for the preparation/development of school principals and more recently extended to the C2 Research Practice Partnership between CUEL and CPS. Their contributions were a part of a broader session titled ImprovingAmerica’s SchoolsTogether: How District-University Partnershipsand Conti nuousImprovement Can Transform Education. This year’s summit drew educators from 47 states and a dozen countries.
