C2 Research Practice Partnership (between CUEL and Chicago Public Schools)

CULTIVATING A HIGH FUNCTIONING HYBRID RPP BETWEEN CUEL AND CPS THAT POSITIVELY CONTRIBUTES TO CPS 5-YEAR VISION AND ALSO GENERATES KNOWLEDGE OF VALUE TO THE FIELD

Formed in 2019, the C2 Research Practice Partnership is a collaborative venture between the Center for Urban Education Leadership (CUEL) and the Chicago Public Schools (CPS). The partnership is co-led by CUEL Director, Shelby Cosner, and CPS Director of External Research, Sarah Dickson. C2 identifies pressing problems within CPS and uses a hybrid of RPP knowledge generation approaches to address these problems as a pathway for advancing the CPS 5-Year Equity-focused Vision.  As of 2024, C2 has gained $1.7M in external funding to support RPP projects through such organizations as the William T. Grant Foundation, the Lyle Spencer Foundation, the Bezos Family Foundation, the Fry Foundation, the McCormick Foundation, and an anonymous funder. Above is a visual of the C2 RPP’s impact logic.
